Dermaplaning is ideal for reducing acne breakouts, improving the appearance of age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. It creates firmer skin, improving both texture and radiance, and reduces sebum (oil) production. It is a gentle skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical blade to remove the topmost layer of dead skin cells. This removal promotes cell renewal and allows better penetration of skin care products thus optimizing their results. Also a wonderful option for our patients who wish to remove the lighter-colored facial hair know as peach fuzz. A very popular procedure that is fast and has no downtime for recovery. It will provide you with softer, smoother and glowing skin.
PROCEDURE
Prior to beginning your Dermaplaning procedure, our staff will see to it that you are relaxed and comfortable. Then a gentle steaming mist is applied from a wand above your face, usually for no more than 20 minutes. Using an oxygenated steam opens follicles and helps destroy any bacteria. Optional aromatherapies can be added to the steam to calm or stimulate cells.
We then prepare your face, neck, and upper chest area using a special Clarisonic ultrasonic brush designed specifically to massage and cleanse your skin.
Our staff uses a specially designed surgical blade to remove the top layer of dead skin cells and hair. Your freshened skin is now optimally prepared to receive either basic moisturizers and sun protection or for specially designed SkinCeuticles products to further enhance your treatment experience and results.
Dermaplaning is a fantastic stand-alone treatment option, but it can also be used with almost any facial or chemical peel that we offer for an even greater impact, like our dermaplaning deluxe package that includes a non-agressive micropeel. Many of our patients like to add a cryotherapy treatment at the end to cool, calm and tighten the skin after dermaplaning.
